Cats need their greens

There are several plants that are suitable for cats as supplements. Two of the top favourites are wheat grass and barley grass. A lot of pet owners might not realise that cats do graze on these greens. Some might even find it amazing when they see a cat take a bite out of a blade of grass. Well they do!. Even cats listens to their mom's "eat your greens" advice.
Cats would regurgitate these plants they took in. Pet owners might see that as a bad sign and stop letting them have their greens. For this purpose, Regurgitation is a good thing. Cats do not have the enzymes to break down the veggies they just chewed. When they do throw up, its going to bring out all the other things they were not designed to digest. Only you know what your cat got their paws into. In fact, you might not even know what.
Just like to us humans, vegetables are nutritional. Wheat grass contains folic acid which is beneficial to the cat. For our purpose, lets just call it vitamins. Cats have the instinct to graze when they need to. Us humans have pepto-bismol and laxative in our arsenal to combat the our digestive problems. Cats use the greens for relief and maintenance.

This link below show in more detail how grass benefits cats.

There are however plants that are dangerous for pets. We might even have it in our home because we didn't know it was harmful. Yes cats have their animal instincts but we can never be too safe. You might want to check on this list I found online. Very long list of plants that are beneficial and dangerous to our furkids.
